Tasneem Kassam (she/her/hers) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor at Dr. Joti Samra, R.Psych. & Associates. Practicing from an integrative and collaborative framework, Tasneem believes all clients are unique and aims to encompass a non-judgemental approach to assist clients in achieving their goals. Tasneem supports individuals and couples who are dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, anger management, stress, addiction, communication challenges and helps to develop clients’ life skills.
Tasneem holds a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Family Studies, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution. Tasneem believes in creating a safe space for clients which will help to foster exploration of specific needs and concerns. Tasneem strives to bring out clients’ needs through validation and acknowledgement, while guiding and supporting them along their journey. Tasneem is experienced in supporting LGBTQ+ clients, and has previous experience running youth support workshops for the community.
Tasneem uses a variety of evidence-based modalities, such as; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Training (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) and is a Level 2 Gottman Trained Couples Therapist. She focuses on various solution-focused therapies, and utilizes both mindfulness and motivational interviewing in her clinical practice, in order to help clients find their own path to new ways of being.
Tasneem works closely with Dr. Samra to develop clients treatment plans and offers both in-person and online (virtual) counselling, out of her Downtown Vancouver office space at the Mainland Medical Clinic, 1061 Hamilton Street, Vancouver, BC.
