Darby Eakins is a CBT Therapist and a certified Psychological Health & Safety (PH&S) Advisor at Dr. Joti Samra, R.Psych & Associates, and MyWorkplaceHealth. She has extensive experience in disability management, vocational rehabilitation, workplace wellness, and civility and respect at work. Darby is in the process of receiving her designation as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), and provides Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to select clients under Dr. Samra’s supervision. Darby is passionate about individual and workplace psychological heath & wellness, and her clinical interests include working with those from business backgrounds, helping individuals managing stress, anxiety and workplace burnout, as well as helping individuals overcome trauma.
Darby spent over 15 years working at the intersection of health and vocation, offering individual services across the spectrum of the vocational journey from commencement of career to retirement and organizational services across human resources spectrum of recruitment, retention, accommodation, recognition and reward, leadership development. Darby’s primary specializations have been in the arena of Disability Management, Vocational Rehabilitation, Accommodation, Civility and Respect, Inclusion and Diversity, and Psychological Health & Safety. Most recently, Darby spent 8 years working with individuals and systems to enhance the health, well-being and experience of health care providers at Island Health
Darby is a Rehabilitation Consultant with humanworks consulting group, a Health & Wellness Consultant with Genesis Rehabilitation Ltd., and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Mental Health Association – Central Island Branch. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Dalhousie University, a Master of Arts degree in Disability Management from the Health Science program at the University of Northern British Columbia and is a Certified Psychological Safety Advisor with the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Darby is located on Vancouver Island, and offers her services via online (virtual) counselling. She works closely with Dr. Samra in the development of treatments plans for clients.
