What is secure online (virtual) counselling?

The demands of modern-day life make it increasingly difficult to prioritize our psychological health – and advances in technology and the advent of remote work environments now increasingly making video-based communication an effective and efficient manner by which to obtain access to health services. The research evidence is clear: for the vast majority of clients, video-based counselling is as effective as in-office.

Who can benefit from online (virtual) counselling?

  • Clients with busy schedules (work, families, etc.) as virtual counselling takes away travel time, cost, and stress.
  • Clients who live anywhere in BC who may not have many options for therapists or psychologists in their community.
  • Online (virtual) counselling reduces barriers to access (inability to take time off of work, living remotely, mobility issues).
  • Existing clients who may want to supplement their in-office treatment with additional virtual sessions.

Mood Disorders

Our registered clinical counsellors have expertise in providing support using evidenced-based techniques to manage depression, dysthymia, and bipolar disorder.

Our clinicians also provide support for eating disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder), borderline personality disorder, non-suicidal self-injury, chronic suicidality, substances use, misuse, and abuse, and chronic physical issues (pain, injury, disability).
