Counsellor & Workplace Consultant
Tracy Lau has completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and is presently in the process of obtaining her license as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. She has obtained her Bachelor of Honours in English Language and Literature from Queen’s University.
Tracy has experience working for the Ministry of Child and Family Development, in the Child and Youth Mental Health Department. She has experience working with children, youth, and families, providing therapy through individual and parent-child sessions. She also has experience co-facilitating group counselling, such as the Mindshift group, which focuses on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness treatment for depression and anxiety.
In addition to her role as an associate in supervised practice with Dr. Joti Samra, R.Psych. & Associates, Tracy also works as a Mental Health Clinician at the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre, in the Mental Health and Substance Use Services department. She provides consultation, assessment, short-term case management, and clinical counselling services on complex cases to individuals and families who present at outpatient clinics with serious and persistent mental disorders, chronic health issues, and substance use/misuse.
Tracy has been a Counselling Associate with Dr. Joti Samra, R.Psych. & Associatessince 2018. She offers counselling via telehealth (remote videoconference), as well as limited appointments at: Mainland Medical Clinic, 1061 Hamilton Street, Vancouver, BC.
