Reality show families offer festive marketplace: The latest effort to generate more economic activity in Aldergrove is a Night Market this Saturday (by Heather Colpitts, Langley Advance, October 27, 2011)
Aldergrove is offering people a unique event Saturday evening with a one-time night market.
It runs 6-9 p.m. at 272nd Avenue and Fraser Highway.
There people will find about 40 vendors including families taking part in the reality TV show Million Dollar Neighbourhood.
Organizers have invited entrepreneurs from around the region to take part as well, offering space. In lieu of charging a table fee, the committee asks that interested businesses, entrepreneurs and vendors make a contribution to the Aldergrove Transportation Initiative.
That can be products, food carts, and even entertainers to offer a range of attractions.
The public is cordially invited to attend the Aldergrove Night Market.
There is no admission charge and all are free to bargain with the vendors in true Night Market spirit.
“The MDN families are working to make this a festive and enterprising event for all involved,” said resident Annette McArthur.
The public is invited to check it out and see this latest initiative by the families taking part in the show about financial matters.
Participants have been working with experts to not only increase their personal and household worth but also the community’s financial position.
Since the production started, the families have decluttered with a massive garage sale, hosted a gala wine and cheese fundraiser for charity, sold their vehicles, and even started a petition to get better public transit for the Aldergrove area.
